Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has also weighed in with his views on KL Rahul as the under-pressure batsman continues to hog the limelight for all the wrong reasons. Harbhajan Singh has leapt in his defence as two former India cricketers – Venkatesh Prasad and Aakash Chopra – engaged in a war of words over the opening batsman.
Prasad has been very vocal in his criticism for Rahul who has been awfully out of form for quite some time now especially in Tests. The former fast-bowler has taken to Twitter to criticise Rahul on numerous occasions in recent times.

Prasad questioned Rahul’s place in the team and even alleged ‘favouritism’ in the Indian team. He also pointed out that the likes of Shikhar Dhawan and Mayank Agarwal did not get as much as support as Rahul is getting. And while Prasad did not shy away from criticising the India opener, his criticism was soon questioned by Aakash Chopra.
The former cricketer-turned-commentator had reacted to the tweets posted by Prasad criticising Rahul during the Delhi Test. Chopra had urged the former Prasad to refrain from tweeting about Rahul in the middle of the match. Later, Chopra spoke about Rahul’s form on his YouTube channel and indirectly said that the Venkatesh Prasad had some agenda against the opener.
Harbhajan Singh on KL Rahul:
As Venkatesh Prasad and Aakash Chopra engaged in a war of words, Harbhajan Singh also decided to have his say on the matter. The legendary spinner took to Twitter on Tuesday night to defend Rahul and backed the opener to do well. He also urged the Indian cricket fraternity to leave Rahul alone.
“Can we leave @klrahul alone guys ? He hasn’t done any crime. He is still a top player. He will come back strong.we all go thru such patches in international cricket.he is not the first one and last one. so please respect the fact that he is our own ?? player and have faith ?,” wrote Harbhajan Singh.
