Ravindra Jadeja is surely the man of the moment as far as the first test between India and New Zealand at Kanpur is concerned. The all rounder has had an exceptional game so far with a significant contribution with the bat in the first innings. That was followed by a five wicket haul in New Zealand’s first innings to derail the visitors.
The all rounder though, was at his best with the bat as he notched up his second half century during India’s second innings. Post the day’s play, Jadeja spoke to the press in the conference and was a content individual. Comically though, Jadeja remained in the news as a slip of tongue from his end almost led to a funny situation.
About the footmarks created by the spinners, Jadeja implied that any new batsman would be pretty nervous. “When a new batsman walks in on a turning track, looking at the footmarks the batsman might get scared because of the number of footmarks and not able to defend confidently,” said Jadeja.
He was speaking in Hindi, and when translated literally, it means something which just can’t be said or signified in public. The all rounder paused at the right moment as the media personnel burst out laughing.
Veteran Indian off spinner Harbhajan Singh couldn’t control himself, and in a tweet, urged Jadeja to complete his sentence without the pause. Below, is Harbhajan’s tweet directed towards Jadeja.
