The legendary Sachin Tendulkar has praised the incredible efforts of Team India skipper Virat Kohli for his magnanimous run across formats. Pertinently, Kohli has ruled the roost with his strategy and went on to sweep ICC Awards 2018. The batting stalwart has bagged as many as three awards under his belt.

Moreover, Tendulkar has congratulated Kohli on bagging three coveted annual awards of the International Cricket Council (ICC). The Mumbai added the burgeoning consistency, and hard work reaps the rewards for the professional like Kohli in itself. He recently went on to become first-ever Indian and Asian captain to win the Test series on the Australian soil. Kohli also led the Men in Blue to clinch their maiden bilateral ODI series win in Australia.

“Hard work and perseverance always pays off. Congratulations on winning a hat-trick of awards at the #ICCAwards announced today, @imVkohli! Very proud of your achievements,” Tendulkar tweeted.

Kohli who had an outstanding year as a skipper and batsman was adjudged ICC Cricketer of the year for the second consecutive time to lay hands on the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy.

Also, the 30-year-old top-order batsman has claimed the ICC ODI Cricketer of the Year, ICC Test Cricketer of the Year to become the first-ever cricketer to bag hat-trick of awards in a single year.

Besides, Kohli has been named as the Test skipper and ODI skipper respectively to add another feather to his cap.

Interestingly, Kohli is closing in on Tendulkar’s 49 One-day International tons. He recently registered his 39th ODI hundred against Australia at Adelaide and is ten short to equal the record of his idol.

On the other side, it has been a debate who is the best in business, and some of the greats have had joined the bandwagon to name their choice. Apart from it, Tendulkar has often hailed the efforts of batting giant Kohli. Also, the Delhi-based star has himself admired the veteran of 200 Tests, and 463 ODIs.

Kohli has featured in 216 ODIs in which he amassed 10385 runs at the staggering average of 59.68. Also, he has played 77 Tests and 65 T20Is, since his international debut against Sri Lanka at Dambulla on August 18, 2018.
