Recently, the former India captain Sunil Gavaskar rubbished comparisons between Kapil Dev and Hardik Pandya, saying the legendary all-rounder is a once-in-a-century cricketer and cannot be compared to anyone. Meanwhile, the other former cricketer Krishnamachari Srikkanth believes Hardik Pandya’s approach is similar to Kapil Dev.

The Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been the most headlined name in the recent past for obvious reasons. However, after a fine time, he was on the news related to the game of cricket.

After making a comeback into the game by serving a suspension, the flamboyant cricketer showed what he capable of doing. Meanwhile, he is continuing his charisma for Mumbai Indians as well.

Hardik Pandya has got special qualities – K Srikkanth

Speaking of the comparison, he quoted that there is one quality that both the cricketers share is never giving up. Srikkanth noticed that Kapil Dev used to never give up at any situation and used to go with his usual play.

”The ability to turn matches from hopeless situations is also Hardik’s speciality. Not comparing two individuals, one aspect of Kapil Dev that I am reminded of is not succumbing to the situation. Be it with bat or ball, Kapil never allowed the situation to dictate terms and he went about playing his natural game,” Srikkanth wrote to Times of India.

On Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore:

Further, he went on to add writing that the clash against Kolkata Knight Riders would be very crucial for Royal Challengers Bangalore to survive in the tournament. He believes that they will open their account in the tournament.

These are early days in the tournament but the game against KKR will be extremely vital for RCB. The only team to have not opened their account, the Virat Kohli-led side must look at getting their combination right against a dangerous side like KKR. A lot has been said about the batting being over-dependent on Kohli and AB de Villiers. In my opinion, though, the lack of support for Yuzvendra Chahal is hurting them even more,” Srikkanth signed off.

Well, it would be interesting to see how things would turn out for Royal Challengers Bangalore. In between, as Srikkanth termed, Hardik Pandya has got a lot of talent to offer for Indian National Cricket Team.
