England’s new batting sensation Haseeb Hameed has become a household name after his stirring debut against India at Rajkot, where England nearly pulled off a win. In the second innings of the Test, the 19-year-old played a valiant knock of 82 runs off 177 balls to mark his arrival into international cricket.
The Lancashire born continued to get under the skin of hosts in the series. In the pursuit to save the third Test at Mohali, Hameed played a gritty knock of 59 runs, and that too with a broken finger. Although, India won the match but for Hameed, the red carpet was set to welcome appreciations across the cricketing fraternity.

The Baby Boycott, as he is referred in England, was forced to leave the tour mid-way following the injury he sustained during the first innings of the Mohali Test. Not opting to leave for his home, Hameed preferred putting up in India to support his team.
He was seen in the stadium in the penultimate Test at Wankhede. Recently, the youngster got lucky as he had an opportunity to meet the Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar. Accompanied by his father to Sachin’s place, Hameed seemed delighted after meeting his childhood inspiration, living his fan-boy moment. He then took no time in uploading the memorable moment captured on his Instagram account.
India will take on England in the fifth Test at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai, starting December 16.
