The latest ball-tampering scandal has given the cricketing world a reality check according to South African batsman Hashim Amla. Hashim Amla is the latest cricketer to have his say on the entire situation which has got the cricketing world talking.

Amla said that the South African players feel grateful for being in the South African dressing room and the shadow of the controversy is not upon them.

Cricket Australia has banned Australian captain Steven Smith and David Warner for 12 months. The duo will also the upcoming Indian Premier League.
Cameron Bancroft, on the other hand, has been banned for the next nine months.

Meanwhile, the decision was taken after the CEO of Cricket Australia, James Sutherland traveled to South Africa and met with the team in the hotel. All the three players will now travel back home and can not take part in any cricket be it domestic or international for the next 12 months.
However, Amla who was in the opposition dressing room when the incident took place said that the incidence had given every team a reality check.
He said:
“What kind of cricket do you want to play? It has probably given the ICC a lot more headaches and the opportunity now is for the governing bodies to show us, where is this line?”

Meanwhile, South Africa is currently leading the series 2-1, and Amla said that the focus of their team going into the fourth Test is just cricket.
“With all the distractions, there is not much we can do from our perspective. I am grateful that we are sitting in the South African change room without the shadows hanging over us. For us it is about the cricket. You’ve got to keep your focus as professional sportsmen.”
