Team India fast bowler Mohammed Shami has resumed playing cricket. But his off-field matters with wife Hasin Jahan isn’t coming to an end.
On Tuesday (April 10), Jahan filed a court case at the Alipore Court against Shami. She demanded INR 15 lakh from him per month. The mentioned amount is said to be a maintenance fee for her family and daughter.
Giving a breakdown of the charges she said INR 10 lakh is required for her family and INR 5 lakh for her daughter’s expenses.
She further stated that the fast bowler hasn’t shown any concern for her child since all this drama unfolded.
The couple has parted ways after Hasin alleged several charges against Shami including adultery, domestic violence.
Hasin further added that he was involved in several extra-marital affairs, and claimed that Shami had fixed matches which proved to be totally false as per the investigation conducted by the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit.
“This case is different from the one we had filed before the police. Shami had not paid a single penny to Jahan since she had raised the issue. He had given her a Rs 1 lakh cheque that later bounced. Now she has no money to pay for the monthly expenses,” Zakir Hussain, the lawyer of Hasin Jahan was quoted as saying by the Times of India.
Meanwhile, Hasin’s lawyer further stated that Shami makes good money out of cricket and it shouldn’t be a much of a problem for the fast bowler to bear the part of the expenses for his wife and daughter.
“I am at a loss from all ends. I had been to Delhi to meet him and was there for seven days but I can never forget the way he behaved with me. He also met the daughter only once. Hence I demand the maintenance fee as he is not taking any of our responsibilities,” Jahan said.
Mohammed Shami, who was trolled immensely following the incident will look to get back the love from his fans by putting up a brilliant performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
