Women’s cricket is constantly getting more and more viewers around the world. In the cricket-obsessed country, India, the women team is also getting attention, not like the men’s team, but the changes are surely visible in the audience.

Recently, the Indian team reached the maiden finals of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020. However, they could not win the marquee clash against Australia, who went up to clinch the trophy for the fifth time.

Although the tournament for India ended on a bad note, they were recognized for their achievements by fans on social media.

Jhulan Goswami has a big contribution in taking the Indian women’s cricket team to great heights.

The ex-captain is the highest wicket-taker in women’s One Day International with 225 wickets. Goswami was on top of the ICC Women’s ODI bowling rankings for multiple times. In August 2018, she announced her retirement from WT20Is.

Goswami has played 182 ODIs scoring 1076 runs with taking 225 wickets. In 68 T20Is, she scored 405 runs and picked 56 wickets. She has also played 10 Test matches. Currently, she plays only the ODI format for the Indian Women’s national cricket team.

She has been awarded Grade B contract for the 2019-20 season by the BCCI and according to it, Goswami earns Rs 30 lakhs.

The T20 World Cup star Poonam Yadav was the leading wicket-taker for the Indian team during the tournament in Australia.

The opposition faced difficulty to face the spinner’s googly. She has the capability to deliver the slowest bowl which was hard to be played by the batters.

She was the highest wicket-taker for the team in the first league match against Australia. She scalped four wickets and gave 19 runs in her four-over quote. She showed how dangerous she could be.

For her big contribution, BCCI gave her a Grade A contract. However, it does not have many brand endorsements but with the rising stardom, she will surely bag a lot of brands.

The Leg spinner might also earn the contract from WBBL.

3. Smriti Mandhana:

Smriti Mandhana is fondly known as the ‘Rohit Sharma’ of the women’s team. She has played many crucial knocks for India on big platforms.

The left-hand batswoman is one of the most popular women’s cricketers in India. She grabbed the eyes after her majestic performance in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017.

But she could not repeat her same stunt in ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020. Though nobody could deny the talent she has with her.

As of now, the 23-year-old has played 2 Tests, 51 ODIs and 75 T20Is. She has featured in the IPL Women’s Challenge and Women’s Big Bash League tournaments.

The hard-hitting batswoman has a grade-A contract with BCCI according to which she earns Rs 50 lakhs.

Smriti also endorses big brands. Her bat sponsor is Hero MotoCorp while she has a tie-up with the energy drink company Red Bull. Recently, she was also signed up for the shoe brand Bata.

Harmanpreet Kaur is also counted as one of the biggest players India’s women team has ever got. She became the first Indian captain to lead the team in the final of the women’s mega event. However, her performance was not up to the mark which has costed the team.

The Punjab-born cricketer always enters the field with the fighting spirit and gives her 100 per cent. She will surely come back stronger in upcoming games.

The T20 captain has played 99 ODIs and scored 2372 runs. In 114 T20Is, she has scored 2186 runs while she has also one century in her name.

Harmanpreet is in the Grade-A list in BCCI’s contract and earns Rs 50 lakhs. She also endorses Retail brand Natural-B while CEAT sponsors her bat.

1. Mithali Raj 

India women’s ODI and Test team captain, Mithali Raj, tops the list of highest-earning women’s cricket team. BCCI has awarded her grade-b contract and according to it, she earns INR 30 Lakh.

Talking about her credentials, in 209 ODIs, she has collected 6888 runs at an average of  50.64. She has also seven centuries and 53 centuries in one-dayers.

Raj has also played 10 Tests where she has scored 663 runs in 16 innings, at an average of 51.

Mithali Raj has endorsed big brands like Allen Solley, American Tourister, NextGen Fitness Studio and Royal Challenge.
