World Cup 2015 was the maiden world campaign for Afghanistan who was unimpressive during the whole event. Their one of the lowest performances was witnessed against Australia where the former captain Steve Smith and Warner dominated the cricket field.

The explosive batsman David Warner thrashed Afghanistan bowling line up as he smacked 178 runs off 133 balls. His knock included 19 boundaries and five maximums. Warner also mustered 260 runs partnership for the second wicket with Steve Smith who scored 95 runs. Their partnership became the second-highest in the tournament and guided the team to set up a mammoth target of 417 runs.

In reply, the visitors failed to chase down the target as they were all out for 142 runs and Australia won the match by a huge margin of 275 runs.
