Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis showed their masterpiece with the bat against Ireland in the group stage match of the World Cup 2015. The former scored 159 off 128 balls, striking four sixes and 16 fours and du Plessis amassed 109 off 109 balls in that match. They both stitched 247 runs partnership for the second wicket as South Africa set up the target of 411 runs.

In reply, Ireland was all out for 210 runs as Morne Morkel, Kyle Abbott and Dale Steyn dismantled them.
