While many would be shocked by seeing the name on top, others would feel happy that World Cricket is developing. Shaiman Anwar of United Arab Emirates tops the list of highest scorers with 270 runs in 4 innings. He is closely followed by Kumar Sangakkara with 268 runs. Another shocking name to make it to the list is of Kyle Coetzer from Scotland. He has scored 253 runs in his 4 innings.
There is no Indian on the list as the highest run scorer from India is Shikhar Dhawan with 224 runs in 3 innings. He is currently 12th on the list. This World Cup is evenly poised in terms of batting talent as we can see that, there is a difference of just 40 odd runs between the highest run scorer and the batsmen on 10th position in this list.
Batsmen from India and New Zealand are yet to make it to the top 10 list and one of the reason being both the teams have had to chase smaller target and hence there wasn’t much opportunity to score many runs. But as we progress we can definitely expect many new names on this list.
