In yet another highest ODI team total, South Africa thrashed Australian bowlers at Johannesburg. South Africa chased down the target of 435 in nine in 49.5 overs. Again the Proteas made it to the list of highest team score in ODI cricket.

Earlier, Australia batted first which saw skipper Ricky Ponting leading from the front. Ponting scored 105-ball 164.

Moreover, wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist and Mike Hussey scored fifty each.

In response, South Africa had the worst start with Boeta Dippenaar returning to the pavilion after scoring a solitary run. However, Graeme Smith steadied the ship alongside Herschelle Gibbs. Gibbs scored magnificent 175.

Adding to it, wicketkeeper-batsman Mark Boucher remained unbeaten on 50 off 43 balls.
