Both the brothers made a late entry in the international circuit. Both made their international debut at the age of 29. Michael the elder one of two made an immediate impact and went on to represent the country in all the three formats of the game whereas David Hussey could just represent the country in limited-overs format despite having a better first-class average than his brother Mike. Mike went on to play 79 test matches, 185 ODI’s and 38 T20I whereas David played 69 ODI and 39 T20Is.

The difference between the two was the limited chances given to David as he was a late order batsman and got few chances to bat in the strong Aussie batting line up whereas Mike used to exploit the opportunity to its best coming at the top. Mike is also one of the few successful Test players who made their Test debut after the age of 30. It can be safely said that Mike was successful than his brother by miles and David was the weakest amongst the two.
