On the field, India’s off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s success story has been the highlight of the team’s success as he deceives the batters at his will and scores all important runs for his team. But off the field, he has been equally humble and aggressive while giving straight forward answers to his fans over social media before giving it back to the critics as well.
The 30-year-old Ashwin was asked by one of his fans about his absence from his Ranji Trophy state side for the semi-final game against Mumbai.
“@ashwinravi99 wish U supported TN in the Ranji semis by playing. A Golden opportunity to win after decades. Lament skilled INTL players skip,” wrote the Twitter user who goes by the name of Bala.
To which, Ashwin replied:
“@BalaVenkat79 sir this is a human body that I live inside, not a machine. Kindly be compassionate,” Ashwin responds on Twitter.
The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association was desperate to see Ashwin lead the spin attack, but he is suffering from sports hernia and doctors have advised him rest after the exhausting five-match Test series against England, which India won 4-0.
Ashwin took the opportunity during his 12-wicket haul in the fourth Test at Wankhede to have some words with James Anderson after the England fast-bowler made comments regarding Virat Kohli’s batting technique on the fourth day of the Test.
Some of the Tweets:
