I am Not Available For IPL, Confirms Yuvraj Singh After Retirement Announcement

Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has called it time on his cricketing career. He announced that he is retiring from international cricket on Monday.

However, many thought the 37-year old could still be playing in IPL in the upcoming season. But during the media interaction after his announcement, Yuvraj Singh clarified that he is not going to play in IPL again.

The south paw played for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2019. Although, he did play well in the first two games, his dip in form in next two games got him dropped. He was never picked into the team again for the reminder of the season.

“I am not available for IPL. I have retired from BCCI and international cricket and I am looking forward to play outside India (in T20 leagues).”

But the good thing is Yuvraj will be playing outside India. Since he is no longer burdened by the hopes, the veteran wants to enjoy the game for a couple of years before completely leaving it.

Yuvraj is undoubtedly one of the best cricketers to ever play for India.

He had certain glorifying moments to his career that many would only dream of. Even till date, he remains the only player to hit 6 sixes to a pace bowler in any form of cricket. On the other hand, he was the Man of the tournament in India’s 2011 world cup triumph.

Yuvraj Singh also had many other important moments in his career that helped him earn a permanent place in fans’ hearts. It is a known fact that there are hardly any haters for Yuvraj Singh in India, after his incredible contributions to Indian cricket for nearly two decades.

“I was confused with my career and how I would end it. I would have been satisfied if I could have played more games in IPL 2019, would have been happy to leave the sport with that. But you don’t get everything in life. I had decided last year that this IPL would be my last and I’ll give it my best shot,” Yuvraj Singh added as quoted by The New Indian Express.

He confirmed that he will play outside India for a year or two.

All is not over for Yuvraj Singh fans, the Indian legend wants to enjoy the game for a couple of years more. Although, it will not be India, which is a huge disappointment. The player himself confirmed on the news.

“I want to play T20 cricket. At this age, I can manage to play some kind of fun cricket. I want to go and enjoy my life. It’s been too stressful just thinking about my international career, performing and big tournaments like the IPL.

“Now I would like to enjoy myself. With BCCI’s permission, I would like to go and play. Just have fun for this year and maybe next year, whatever is left in me. It’s been a very long and hard journey and I think I deserve that,” he added.
