I hate this Indian cricketer, admits Shahid Afridi 1

Gautam Gambhir and Shahid Afridi are known for their fierce rivalry. It all started in 2007 when Pakistan toured India. When the arch rivals were playing  a One-Day International at Kanpur, a heated fight took place between the two men with volatile temperaments. The incident happened when Gautam Gambhir tried to take a quick single. In the process, he collided with Afridi, who was clearly upset by it. On the other hand, Gambhir was under the impression that Afridi was trying to deliberately block his way. Soon the two got involved in a heated argument.

The relationship between the two deteriorated even further after Afridi slammed Gambhir after the Indian batsman dedicated the ICC World Cup to the victims of 26/11 Mumbai attack.
Reacting to Gambhir’s gesture, the Pakistani all-rounder had said: “I think they were very stupid comments by Gautam Gambhir. I was not expecting this from Gautam. This is all politics, what do you know about who carried out the Mumbai attacks?”

Well, the rivalry between the two was clearly visible but expressing it publicly is not a good gesture. In a Twitter question answer session way back in 2013, when the Pakistani all-rounder was asked the name of the cricketer he hated most, he replied:

And when a fan asked him whether the all-rounder’s relation with the Indian player has improved he said that he will never try to do that.
