Team India skipper Virat Kohli, who is on a break, recently admitted that MS Dhoni is the only skipper he has picked up aspects of leadership from.
Meanwhile, the selectors decided to rest Kohli to manage his workload after a grueling tour of England. The MSK Prasad-led committee wants him fresh for the series against Australia.
Virat Kohli recently opened on various aspects of life while speaking to Wisden. Talking about his captaincy, Kohli seemed ecstatic about it. The talismanic runscorer took over the reigns from MS Dhoni in Test cricket in 2014, while he took up the ODI captaincy in 2017.

Talking about his inspirations in captaincy, Virat Kohli admitted that he had learned a great deal from Dhoni.
“Not really anyone before MS. I was always someone who kept talking to him about the game so even when I was really young before I was made vice-captain, I would give him my suggestions. Not in a way that I thought I knew better but I felt at certain moments I could probably see this thing that someone else might not be able to pick up,” Kohli noted.

The prolific run-scorer also stated he enjoys leading the side and also chasing scores. Virat Kohli also revealed that fielding is the slips beside MS Dhoni has helped him develop the techniques.
“I love thinking about the game, and that’s why I enjoy captaincy so much, and I enjoy chasing totals so much. I love using my brain to figure out what to do during the game. I’ve learned the most from MS, standing so close to him at slip so many times and just observing him at close quarters,” Kohli signed off.
