I Was in Mumbai to Take Blessings from God of Cricket: Suresh Raina

After around four months, Suresh Raina will make his comeback in the recognised cricket, as he represents the India Blue team in Duleep Trophy, in the capacity of the captain of the side.

The left handed batsman is making efforts to make a comeback in the Indian team, but hasn’t found a favour. Though he was part of the Indian team for the three-match T20I series against England early this year, he wasn’t given a central contract. From then, he has been excluded from the side for various tours and is also not there for first three ODI against Australia.

The 30-year-old player is looking forward to the get his spot back in the team and believes that all the things will fall in place,

“We are looking forward to the match. All matches at all levels are important. Even though we are not sure about the availability of players or their replacements, I’m sure everything will fall in place soon. We have the knowledge of the pitch here and it’s an advantage for us. Seemer Ankit Rajput is a local boy and that’s a big plus for the side,”  Raina said on the eve of the game.

A few days back, he was spotted with Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, and on being asked upon his meeting with the Little Master, Raina answered that he went there to seek the blessings of The Master,

“Yes, I had gone to Mumbai and practised before Sachin Tendulkar. I was there to take his blessings and I am happy that God of cricket blessed me.”

Duleep Trophy tournament is an opportunity for Raina to make a comeback in the Indian team, as the MSK Prasad selection panel has been rewarding cricketers for their good show in the domestic cricket and it is a known fact that he was only dropped from central contract list because of his absenteeism from the domestic circuit.

Raina would be hoping to do well at his home ground in the quest to restore his place.
