Veteran Pakistani batter Shoaib Malik has made himself available for selection for the T20 World Cup 2024 to be played in the Caribbean and the United States of America (USA) in June. Malik will be 42 years old when the tournament gets underway.
Shoaib Malik, who made his Pakistan debut in 2001, has played 35 Tests, scoring 1898 runs and taking 32 wickets. He also featured in 287 ODIs, scoring 7534 runs and taking 158 wickets, while in 124 T20Is, he took 28 wickets and made 2435 runs. In total, he made 12 centuries for Pakistan in international cricket.
Malik also captained Pakistan in the inaugural T20 World Cup in 2007 in South Africa and has an amazing record in T20s. He has 12688 runs and 170 wickets in 515 T20 matches.
He has continued to play in the Pakistan Super League, and his last game for Pakistan came in 2021 against Bangladesh in Mirpur.

Shoaib Malik, the veteran Pakistan T20I all-rounder, has formally announced his availability for the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup in 2024, which will be held in the United States and the West Indies.

In a recent interview with a local media outlet, Shoaib stated his desire to play for the national team in the upcoming mega-event tournament if the cricket board contacts him.
“I would love to lift T20 World Cup in 2024 for Pakistan. I have no physical fitness issue. I’m as fit as I was in my younger days. I’m available for Pakistan whenever PCB contacts me,” Shoaib was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
