2017 ICC Champions Trophy: Manoj Tiwary Lashes Out At Rashid Latif 1

While India and Pakistan may be battling it out in England currently for the coveted ICC Champions Trophy prize, it clearly seems that former cricketers from both nations aren’t in the right mood. The environment surrounding the much hyped Indo- Pak rivalry hasn’t been pleasant ever since India marauded and stamped Pakistan in their ICC Champions Trophy clash last Sunday.

With India and winning, former player and current TV commentator Virender Sehwag earned the bragging rights. On numerous platforms, Sehwag was witnessed taunting Pakistan and trolling the team for their spineless display against India. The former Indian opener apparently termed Pakistan as India’s “beta”, meaning son.

This didn’t go down too well with former Pakistan wicketkeeper Rashid Latif, who represented the team in the 2003 World Cup. Latif, while on the sets of a TV show in Pakistan, streamed a Facebook live video, insulting Sehwag and using language in absolute poor taste.

The Pakistani cricketer crossed all limits of lewdness in his video, as he tried to insult Sehwag. However, that backfired soon, as Indian fans bombarded Latif with curses and abuses on social media. Latif apparently said about Sehwag, “Like he said ‘Baap akhir baap hota hai‘, Sehwag comes from Najafgarh, who helped the country with Independence. He was my grandfather.” “All big monuments left to India were by our ancestors, be it Ajmer Sharif or Nizamuddin Sharif or Taj Mahel. I have a bigger family in India than you do,”

Rising Pune Supergiant batsman and discarded Indian batsman Manoj Tiwary too lashed out against Latif for his immature statements. In a couple of videos tweeted by Tiwary, the batsman is witnessed giving Latif a fitting reply. Below, is the video where Tiwary takes on Latif for his poor remarks.
