ICC Champions Trophy 2017: Top 5 Bowling Figures In An Innings 2

  1. Shahid Afridi – 5-11 vs Kenya, 2004:

The 2004 ICC Champions Trophy was arguably Pakistan’s best edition as the side made it to the semi-finals. With a huge South Asian diaspora supporting the Inzamam Ul Haq led side, Pakistan made it to the semi-finals, before losing to ultimate winners West Indies. During their group stage clash against Kenya at Birmingham, flamboyant all-rounder Shahid Afridi stole the show with his aggressive leg breaks. Being unlike the traditional leg spinners who flight the ball, Afridi was more of a quick pacer as the Pathan relied more on his pace and accuracy rather than just turn. There was an ample display of that against Kenya as Afridi ended up taking five wickets while conceding just 11 runs in his spell of 6 overs. The game was a cakewalk for Pakistan as Kenya were bowled out for 94, a total being chased with more than 30 overs to spare.
