ICC Champions Trophy 2017: Top 5 Bowling Figures In An Innings 2

  1. Farveez Maharoof – 6-14 vs West Indies, 2006:

Leading the best bowling figures charts in the ICC Champions Trophy is Sri Lanka’s Farveez Maharoof. The all-rounder was more than a decent bowler as despite not being express pace, Maharoof was profusely accurate and his stump to stump line made him a difficult customer to negotiate. When finding assistance, Maharoof pitched the ball outside the off stump to continuously play with the mind of the batsmen. Against West Indies at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, Maharoof was on fire as he picked up 6 wickets while giving away just 14 runs in his spell of 9 overs. Thanks to such a clinical bowling performance, West Indies were rolled over for 80 and in response, the Sri Lankans chased it down within the 14th over. Such was the dominance asserted by Sri Lanka, thanks to a record-breaking spell from Maharoof.
