Just as it seemed that the Indian new ball bowlers had the Pakistani openers on the mat, tragedy struck as Jasprit Bumrah repeated his old negative habit of overstepping the line. Winning the toss on a fresh new deck under the sunny skies, skipper Virat Kohli had no hesitation in putting Pakistan in to bat. Speaking about the playing eleven, Kohli maintained that the men in blue would persist with the winning combination.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah began superbly, especially the former, beginning with a maiden overs. The openers were all at sea in the initial overs, not being able to comprehend Kumar’s sheer accuracy. While Zaman tried to be a little fancy, it was Azhar Ali who seemed to battle it out in the middle.

The pressure of not giving any runs early on paid off as Zaman succumbed to the slow run rate and edged one from Jasprit Bumrah. The delivery was pitched on the fourth stump mark and could have been left alone.

But the southpaw was trapped and poked his bat only to give MS Dhoni an easy catch. However, the celebrations were cut short as umpire Erasmus went up to the third umpire to confirm about the new ball. India’s worst fears came true as Bumrah had indeed overstepped, giving Zaman a life.

As of now, Pakistan is 56-0 with 10 overs being bowled. Below is the video of Zaman being dismissed off a no ball.
