On Tuesday Moeen Ali persisted that England were “over” a smashing defeat by title-dark knight Australia in their opener of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 on Saturday England were assaulted by 111 runs in Melbourne in a match where nothing went right for them from the moment they dropped Australia’s century-maker Aaron Finch off the 5th ball of the game.

Co-hosts Australia amassad 342 runs for the loss of nine wickets before dismissing their arch-rivals for 231 runs to register a huge win. On Monday, England opener Ali, whose side now face another stiff Pool A challenge when they face New Zealand, the other host nation, in Wellington said surely they were disheartened after the output, but they are over it now.

Ali added that they know they have to move forward. The next match is very, very crucial for them. Singly everybody has contributed their own little bit. They have had a couple of days off and then they analyze it together and go from there.

All the fourteen teams will play 6 first round games, with the top 4 from each of the 2 pools passing for the quarter finals. But with Black Caps also one of the strong teams to win the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, Ali is conscious that situations were not about to get any easier for England. Ali added that Australia have set the level and Kiwis are going to be just as tough, they feel. They are going to have to gain their skill level and up their match against New Zealand. It shows just how difficult international cricket is, and in a big tournament they are going to have to be ready.

Ali accepted England, who also lost to Australia in the tri-series finale a few days back the International Cricket Council Cricket World Cup 2015, had been well below the label at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). That was possibly the worst they have played in Australia throughout the trip so far. It is good to get that match out the way, even though it was a bad result for them. They just look forward now to Friday.
