The 25 years old Mitchell Starc is confidently looking forward to the final battle ground of the International Cricket Council World Cup. The amazing Australian left arm fast bowler took four wickets in the match against Scotland in Hobart on Saturday.
Scotland were shot out for 130 after Michael Clarke won the toss and the fast bowler took four for 14 in just 4.4overs.
He has been working hard with Craig McDermott (Australia`s bowling coach) and looking forward to continue this form till the end.
Mitchell Starc’s brilliant six for 28 almost rescued win for Australia over New Zealand at Auckland`s Eden Park in a match they eventually lost by just one wicket.
The Sydney native player said that the ball was coming out nicely and consistently without complaining but more importantly the side is winning and that is all that matters to him. Confidence is going up high which will favor them in knock out phases. According to him they all are bowling quite well, practicing well, personally he hopes to see the ball coming out consistently. The team is working on different strategies, whether it be in practice or in the game.
Australia recalled fast bowler Pat Cummins for Saturday`s match, in place of spinner Xavier Doherty. Pat Cummins was for seven overs and took three wickets and opposition got 42 runs.
Defending him, Michael Clarke said that although he had bit of discomfort there but still he has come back well. The skipper also added that he bowled quick, bowled quiet good ball got three wickets, and he went for a couple of runs and Scotland were seven down and chancing their arm. He has full trust on this 21 years old bowler and further added that he is only going to get better
Michael Clarke missed a midweek practice session to `manage` his hamstring injury and then made a run-a-ball 47 after promoting himself up the order to open.
He still felt a little bit rusty there with the bat. Clarke added that mentally all his boys are charged up, and as they’re training so well that makes winning a lot easier.
Australia will play as yet to be decided opponent in a quarter-final at the Adelaide Oval on Friday, 20th March.
Sydney native Clarke jokingly replied that he does not enjoy playing in Adelaide as much as he enjoys Sydney when he was asked how much he enjoyed playing there. Australian grounds that they have all played cricket at and they all know quite well. So it is an advantage to them.
The determined player said that they all are prepared well and ready to face whatever comes in this world cup season.
