On Wednesday Moin Khan Pakistan’s chief selector made apologetic statement for going to a New Zealand casino on the night before of an important International Cricket Council Cricket World Cup 2015 match, an “inappropriate” visit which has seen him sent home from the ICC World Cup.

Moin Khan said he was feeling guilty that his activity had upset millions of cricket fans at home. He said that he had gone to a casino in Christchurch with friends and family to have dinner. He admitted the selection of venue for dinner was indeed unsuitable. He said in his apologetic statement that it has upset the Pakistan public as well as cricket fans.

On Tuesday, Shahryar Khan, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman  instigated an examination into Moin’s visit to the Christchurch casino which took place on the eve of team’s Pool B match against the West Indies.

Pakistan lost the match by 150 runs. He stated that he has already elaborated his position to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman and have apologized to him. He has asked him to come back home to further clarify his position in person, which he has readily accepted.

He added that through this statement, he also apologize to the Pakistan public for his insensitivity in the selection of venue for dinner. Early Thursday Moin Khan is likely to depart from Brisbane and will meet Shahryar Khan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief on Friday in Lahore. His exclusion from a World Cup is not a first for Pakistan at a World Cup.
