A female employee of the International Cricket Council (ICC) has accused a colleague of harassment at work, but the ICC’s higher-ups have not taken action on the serious matter. It has been reported that the employee was concerned about her safety and chose to submit a written complaint in person instead of emailing it to the higher official at the ICC.
It is shocking that none of the ICC office-bearers or officials, including the chairman and CEO, responded to the complaint made by a female staffer. Despite occasional email exchanges with the ICC’s legal team, no individual from the management has made an effort to listen to the complaint made by the female staff.
According to reports in News18 CricketNext, the female staff is concerned about her safety after opting to write a letter to top officials regarding a matter. It has been revealed that she has been a part of the ICC for some time and worked on a project leading up to the T20 World Cup in the UAE.
“She feared her emails could have been tracked by the influential people in the ICC so she went the old-timer way. The entire complaint was typed and printed on an A4 size paper and submitted to a senior ICC official in person,” it maintained.

“The employee wasn’t a new one at the ICC. She has worked for a considerable amount of time and also worked on a project ahead of the T20 World Cup in UAE. The constant interference at work and then no response to multiple reminders or emails or letters did her any good as no one in the ICC ever had a dialogue with her,” the report added.
The female staffer involved in the matter continued to fight for a resolution, despite facing an uphill battle against the people of the big institutions. The source also mentioned that the ICC official against whom the complaints were made has a history of multiple complaints of alleged harassment of co-workers.
“It was always going to be difficult for her to fight against such a big institution and then especially the people part of the senior leadership. Then there was always the fear of future professional opportunities being affected by the events that unfolded at the ICC. This complaint isn’t the first time someone has raised a voice against that ICC official,” it further maintained.
The ICC official refused to comment on the matter. It remains unclear what action, if any, the International Cricket Council will take against those involved in the incident.
