India fast-bowler Mohammed Siraj has lost the top spot in the latest ICC Rankings for ODI bowlers, released by the ICC on Wednesday (March 22).
The right-arm pacer is currently playing in the ongoing three-match ODI series between India and Australia. He began the series on a good note, picking up 3 wickets for 29 runs as India beat Australia by 5 wickets at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Siraj, however, had a poor outing like rest of his teammates during the second ODI in Vizag. He conceded 37 runs in just 3 overs without picking up any wicket as Australia thrashed India by 10 wickets to draw level in the series.
Following the poor outing in the second ODI, he has now dropped to the third spot. On the other hand, Australia pacer Josh Hazlewood, who is currently sidelined with an injury, has attained the number one ranking for the first time in his career.

New Zealand’s Trent Boult is at the second spot. Mitchell Starc, who has picked up 8 wickets in the first two ODIs against India including a 5-wicket haul, has moved to the joint-third position with Siraj. Other bowlers to move up the ODI rankings include West Indies’ Alzarri Joseph (up eight places to 11th), India’s Mohammad Shami (up five places to 28th) and Netherlands’ Fred Klaasen (up 22 places to 52nd).
