International Cricket Council has nominated three players for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for April 2023. It will be interesting to see who among the three wins the prestigious award for April Month as Shakib al Hasan of Bangladesh pipped Kane Williamson of New Zealand and Asif Khan of UAE won the ICC Player of the Month award in March 2023.

ICC has released three player names as the nominee for the Player of the Month award in April 2023, including Pakistan star batter Fakhar Zaman, New Zealand all-rounder Mark Chapman and Prabath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka make into the list.

Fakhar Zaman (Pakistan)

Fakhar Zaman made a brilliant comeback to International scenes and led Pakistan’s batting against the Blackcaps to chase down a target of 337 with an individual score of an unbeaten 180 which included 17 boundaries and six massive sixes helping Pakistan to chase down the total in the 49th over.

 Fakhar Zaman has been impressive in the ongoing ODI series scoring two hundred in the first two games with him scoring 297 runs from two games playing a vital role for Men in Green against the inexperienced New Zealand bowling attack and also had a decent outing in the T20 series and will look to continue his fine form against Kiwis in the next three ODI matches in home conditions.

Prabath Jayasuriya ( Sri Lanka)

Sri Lanka Left-arm spinner Prabath Jayasuriya has been an exceptional player for Sri Lanka in red-ball tests since his debut and became the fastest in the world to take 50 Test wickets as a spinner and the fastest Sri Lankan bowler to take 50 Test wickets against Ireland. He achieved this feat in his 7th test match for his team.

The left-arm spinner picked up 17 wickets in the two-match Test series against Ireland in Galle to help his side win the series 2-0 on home soil.

The 31-year-old Jayasuriya has enjoyed a remarkable rise since a Test debut against Australia in July 2022, as he picked up 12 wickets in his debut, and from then on he produced some brilliant performances for the Sri Lanka side

Mark Chapman ( New Zealand)

New Zealand all-rounder Mark Chapman produced a remarkable performance against Pakistan to help his side make a comeback for a 2-0 series to draw the five matches T20 series 2-2 with an emphatic century in the final T20 against Pakistan.

Chapman was very impressive against Pakistan has scored 290 runs in five matches series to score an unbeaten knock of 71 off 42 deliveries which did not have a result due to rain and played a match-winning knock of 104 off 57  fifth T20Is to register his 1st T20 century and to help his side make a dramatic comeback against the Men in Green.

With his impressive performance, Mark Chapman was added to the ODI series against Pakistan in which the Black Caps lost their first two matches Pakistan.
