India rise to 5th position with 100 rating points

India’s historic 2-1 series win in Sri Lanka helped them to observe a change in ICC ranking. 117 runs victory at SSC, Colombo has elevated India to 5th position with 100 rating points, playing 27 Tests. India are just 1 rating point behind of Pakistan.

As India elevated to 5th position, New Zealand, who yet to play a Test series after the Pakistan series in UAE, slumped to 6th position with 99 rating points. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka, who, after the Galle Test win elevated to 6th position, removing India. Now, after the two consecutive Test loss they are now standing at the same place ahead of West Indies, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe losses another three points.

 

The rest of the list is same, South Africa are remain leading the list with 125 rating points while Australia are in a distant 2nd position with 106 rating points. After regaining the historic Ashes 3-1 at Trent Bridge England were standing second with 105 points, but since they lost the final Test at The Oval, 3 rating points was deducted, as a result they slipped to the third position as Australia with three rating points gain snatched the 2nd spot from England.

Pakistan’s ranking did not change as after their 2-1 series win in Sri Lanka they were in the third position, following the Australia’s win they slipped to 4th position 101 points.

West Indies, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe are at the same places with 81, 47 and 5 rating points. West Indies in their last two series at home drawn one against England 1-1, lost to Australia 2-0, while Bangladesh did not loss last three Test, one against India and two against South Africa, courtesy to monsoon rain.
