Although the Indian cricket team has lost the first test at Adelaide against Australia, but on a personal note, this particular match has elevated the test ranking of the stand-in Indian skipper, Virat Kohli by 11 places. Earlier, Kohli had slipped to 27th place but with his wonderful performance in the first test, where he scored 115 runs in the first innings and 141 in the second innings, he is now standing at 16th position in the test ranking for batsmen.
Also, after the first test, the following records are now appearing in the name of Virat Kohli and these speak volumes about the cricketing talent he possesses:
1) He has become the first Indian captain to have scored centuries in both the inning of a test match (115 and 141)
2) He has become the only Indian captain to have scored three centuries in Adelaide
3) Also he happens to be the first Indian batsman to score two centuries while playing at number 4 spot
Overall he has got 8 test centuries to his credit till date. No one can really predict the outcome of this series, but given the wonderful performance, he can spread his magic
