England bowling all-arounder Sam Curran and spinner Jack Leach had moved up the ladder in the ICC Test Rankings on Saturday (July 26). Following England’s win over Ireland by 143 runs in the One-off Test after strangulating Irish team on just 36 on the day three of the iconic Lord’s Stadium on Friday, the duo had made significant gains in their respective rankings.

In a low-scoring affair, the left-handed batsman Leach had made his appearance as the night-watchman in the second innings. Leach managed to score 92, whereas, Curran scored 37 apart from snaring three scalps in the first essay.

Leach had batted at No. 11. He further earned Man of the Match award for his patient knock against Ireland. Leach had jumped 57 places to make it to the 117th spot.

With Australia’s Pat Cummins topping the Test charts, the lanky pacer Stuart Broad had moved to 18th spot after. He had claimed seven wickets in the game which included a four-for in the second innings.

Whereas, bowling all-rounder Chris Woakes has claimed six wickets in the second innings while conceding just 17 runs. Thus, he is ranked 33rd on the bowler’s list in the Test rankings.

Curran, who had played a significant role for England, had moved to 52nd position among the batsmen’s list. Also, he had gained six places to make it to the 67th place, whereas, he has gained eight places to be among the first 23 all-rounders.

Meanwhile, the Three Lions’ bowlers had a fair chance to fetch more points following the kick-off of their home Ashes campaign. The traditional series will commence from August 1st at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

Interestingly, England Test skipper had loosed a spot to slid to seventh place after a poor run with the bat against Ireland. Meanwhile, the tainted duo Steven Smith and David Warner are placed fourth and sixth spot on the ICC Test batting charts.

Meanwhile, England is placed fourth with 105 points. Virat Kohli’s India tops the ladder of the ICC Test team rankings.
