England’s pack leader James Anderson has breached the 900 rating point in the ICC Test rankings. With the help of nine wickets (5-20 and 4-23) in the second Test match at Lord’s, Anderson was able to take his rating points to 903. Therefore, Anderson became the seventh England bowler to enter the 900-club. Thus, Anderson played a key role in England’s mammoth win of an innings and 159 runs.
Meanwhile, Indian skipper Virat Kohli was displaced from the numero uno position after he failed to leave a mark in the second Test match. Kohli who had achieved highest-rating points of 934 slipped to 919 points to take the second place. Steve Smith was once again able to take the top spot in the ICC batsmen rankings.
Chris Woakes takes big strides in the latest ICC Test Rankings.
On the other hand, Stuart Broad jumped one place to take the 12th place in the ICC bowlers Test rankings. Chris Woakes who scored his maiden century in the longest format took massive strides in the rankings.
Woakes was able to jump by 34 ranks to a career-best ranking of 50th place in batsmen rankings. Furthermore, Woakes also made progress in the ICC Test Bowlers Rankings as he took four wickets in the second Test match at Lord’s.
The England all-rounder moved up by three places to occupy the 32nd place in the ICC Test rankings.
Meanwhile, Jonny Bairstow who was involved in 189 runs alliance with Chris Woakes also made significant gains in the ICC Test rankings.
The England wicketkeeper scored a fine 93 in the first innings which helped him move up by three places to break into the top 10 batsmen. Thus, Bairstow took the ninth place in the table.
