In the latest ICC Test rankings, India’s Ravindra Jadeja has toppled his team-mate Ravichandran Ashwin to take the pole position in the bowling chart with career-best ratings of 899. On the other hand, Cheteshwar Pujara has overtaken captain Virat Kohli to climb to the second spot in the batsmen rankings with 862 ratings.
Jadeja, who shone with both bat and ball, scored an unbeaten 53 in the first innings and grabbed nine wickets in the match, including a five-fer in the first innings. His partner Ashwin had a quite Test, as he could only manage two wickets in the game.
Australian captain Steven Smith is still unmoved from the first position, as he scored a magnificent hundred (178*) and 21 in the Ranchi Test
Disappointment continues for Virat Kohli, as his dip in form has caused him his place in the batting chart. In Ranchi Test, he scored just six runs and now has tally of 46 runs in five innings in the series so far. His ratings are 826 now, 18 behind England’s Test captain Joe Root, who is third in the list. New Zealand captain Kane Williamson follows Kohli, while Pakistan batting duo of Azhar Ali and Younis Khan are on six and seven respectively.
Struggling to put runs on board, Australia’s David Warner is eighth in rankings, above South Africa’s batting stars Hashim Amla (9) and Quinton de Kock (10).
In the bowling department, Sri Lanka’s stand-in Test skipper Rangana Herath is third, thanks to his seven wickets in the Colombo Test against Bangladesh. Pace bowler Josh Hazlewood is fourth, while England’s James Anderson follows him on fifth.
