Rain is surely the last thing that one would want to hear ahead of the much-anticipated ICC Women’s World Cup final between India and England at the Lord’s on Sunday (July 23). However, weather reports are suggesting that rain gods may end up disrupting the match.

The Meteorological department has forecast a rainy Sunday for London. As per the report, there will be light and patchy rain throughout the day while dark clouds will hover throughout. Recently, rain had marred several games in the ICC Champions Trophy and cricket fans across the globe will be desperately hoping that the World Cup final does not suffer a similar fate. But in case, the match does not go ahead on Sunday, it will take place on Monday (July 24).
India hoping to become second time lucky:
This is India’s second World Cup final. Their previous appearance in the title-decider had ended in heartbreak when Australia had thrashed them by 98 runs in 2005 but Mithali Raj & Co. would be confident of going one step ahead this time. Barring the loss against South Africa and Australia, the Women in Blue have won all the other games in dominating style and will be hoping to replicate that performance once again.

On the other hand, England has bounced back really well after losing the tournament-opener against India. Heather Knight & Co. finished the group stage at the top before beating South Africa in a thrilling semifinal to set up a final clash with India.
