Having given themselves a chance to make the semi-final with some consistent performances, Bangladesh faces in-form India after a 6-day break in a must-win match at Edgbaston. Shakib Al Hasan, their star performer, believes the team has it in them to test Virat Kohli’s men.
Bangladesh has been in good form in the ongoing Cricket World Cup, partly due to the excellent displays by none other than Shakib Al Hasan. After their recent win against Afghanistan, Shakib stated that his side can beat mighty India in their upcoming fixture on July 2, at Edgbaston.
Last day, Shakib produced a brilliant all-round display, scoring a fifty and returning with a five-wicket haul as Bangladesh beat Afghanistan by 62 runs to grab the fifth spot in the points table. Bangladesh will need to beat India (July 2) and Pakistan (July 5) in their final two group matches to salvage any hopes of a knockout stage.

We will give our best shot – Shakib Al Hasan
Speaking of the same, Shakib Al Hasan quoted that the Indian National Cricket Team is one of the best teams of the tournament. He feels that India got the match-winners but believes that the Bangladesh team will give their best shot for the game against India.
“We have a very important game coming against India. They are a top side, one of the title contenders. It’s not going to be easy but having said that we’ll give our best shot. They got world class players who can win matches single-handedly. We have to be at our best. I believe as a team, we are capable enough,” Shakib Al Hasan said.
Anything can happen in the game of cricket:
Shakib Al Hasan is aware of the mathematical calculations, which are needed to enter into the semifinals of the tournament. He added that England got the best chance compared to Bangladesh but he feels that anything can happen in the game of cricket.

“England need to win one out of three, we have to win two out of our two remaining matches,” Shakib Al Hasan said. “It is difficult, mathematically, but anything can happen in cricket. We have to look at the other results as well, but we have to play two important matches, and get results. It is all we can do.”
