Australia opener David Warner was expected to receive some taunt from the English crowd and it turned out as expected. The southpaw was booed by the English crowd when the southpaw came out to open the innings during England’s warm-up clash against Australia. David Warner has finally returned to international action after serving a one year ban for his infamous involvement in the ball tampering scandal which broke out in Cape Town last year March.

Without a doubt, it will be a long summer for David Warner in England. Just after the World Cup, Australia will take on England in the 5 match Ashes Test series. Hence on the expected cards, Warner and Smith have to cope with a lot of tantrums from the crowd.

The England crowd especially the Barmy Army will leave no opportunity in giving the Australian batters a tough time in England. Coming back to the warm-up clash, it was English stand-in-skipper Jos Buttler who won the toss and put the visitors in. England full-time skipper Eoin Morgan sustained a fracture to index finger during fielding practice on Friday and had to miss the warm-up clash. Meanwhile, Jofra Archer and Mark Wood has also sustained injuries but is expected to be fit when the main tournament starts from 30th May.

Coming back to David Warner, the southpaw looked in great touch and scored a well composed 43 of 55 deliveries which were studded with 5 fours. Warner looked in terrific form during the Indian Premier League (IPL) and finished as the leading run scorer. He scored a staggering 692 runs in just 12 matches and looked a class apart.

During the match, one of the spectators from the crowd shouted, “Get off Warner you cheat.” Meanwhile, the Australia skipper for the World Cup Aaron Finch stated that it is expected and the crowd will give Warner and Smith a hard time during the long summer.

“No matter where you go the fans play a big part,” Aaron Finch stated. The defending champions will begin their World Cup campaign against Afghanistan at County Ground in Bristol on 1st June. Meanwhile, they will meet Sri Lanka in their 2nd warm-up game on 27th May.
