ICC World Cup 2019: David Warner Gifts Australia Signed Jersey to Net Bowler Jaykishan Plaha
Following a one-year ban due to folly in Cape Town, David Warner is setting a major example by winning the hearts at the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019. The flamboyant Australian opener Warner has embraced the Indian origin net bowler, Jaykishan Plaha. The most-loved cricketer has handed Plaha a signed Australian signed jersey on the eve of Australia’s much-awaited clash against Sri Lanka at the Kennington Oval in London on June 15 (Saturday).
Also, following the 41-win over Pakistan at the County Ground in Taunton, Warner, who earned Player of the Match award, has gifted the memento to the young Australian fan.
Following the unfortunate incident, Warner managed to score 84-ball 56 against India, before registering well-established 111-ball 107. Thus, he has brought up his second World Cup hundred and first in the 2019 edition.
ICC World Cup 2019: Warner’s warm gesture for Jaykishan Plaha
Earlier, on June 8 Warner felled Plaha during the practice session at the Kennington Oval. Back then, the latter got a blow on his head at the nets.
Ahead of India’s clash, Australian practice session ended on a sad note. Plaha has coupled a full blown drive from the southpaw. Subsequently, the medicos rushed on the field to attend Plaha, who later got stretchered off the ground.
However, after the completion of scans, Warner himself heaved a sigh of relief after an unfortunate incident during a practice session.
Anxious Warner has beamed a smile as Plaha, who plays league cricket for Surrey made an entry at The Oval stadium. After CT scan cleared him on any danger, Plaha has spent a couple of days at a London-based hospital to receive medical attention where doctors monitored his condition.
So much so, Plaha was accompanied by his mother and brother who also spoke to visibly shaken Warner.
In between, Warner alongside former Australian skipper Steven Smith has faced wrath in England.
Recently, during India-Australia game, Indian fans jeered the duo from stands.
Earlier, the Barmy Army has already booed the duo. The star cricketers have had made a return to international cricket with the twelfth edition of the World Cup.
