ICC World Cup 2019: Everyone Wants Us to Win Against India – Sarfraz Ahmed
Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed has stated that everyone wants them to win against India. The arch-rivals, India and Pakistan will take on each other against on 16 June at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, England. In fact, the high voltage game had come under the scanner when the political tensions between the two countries had risen. Furthermore, there is no still no clarity for the match.
Meanwhile, there is always a different type of pressure when India and Pakistan lock horns at the World Cup event. India has an immaculate record in the World Cup against Pakistan as they are yet to be defeated by the latter. The India National Cricket Team has won six matches against the Pakistan team in the World Cup event. Thus, Pakistan would aim to turn the tables on 16th June.

Meanwhile, Pakistan was thwarted by Australia 5-0 recently in the five-match ODI series. On the other hand, India also lost the home series against Australia by 3-2.
Sarfraz Ahmed believes they are going to take every match like they are playing against India, to get the best out of themselves.
“As a captain, all matches are the same for me. We need to win matches against all teams, not just India. Everyone wants us to win against India, but we will play every match in the World Cup as though we are facing India. We’ll play against Afghanistan as though we’re playing India so we’ll be focused on all teams,” said Sarfraz at a presser before Pakistan team’s departure to England.
In fact, India is considered to be the red hot favorites for the forthcoming ODI showpiece. They are currently at the second position in the ICC ODI rankings. Furthermore, the Indian team has played some relentless cricket in the recent past.
India is once again favorites.
On the other hand, Sarfraz Ahmed believes the team will consider the other sides as India in the upcoming World Cup, to get the best out of themselves. Pakistan had also surprised India in the Champions Trophy 2017 final when they had beaten them by 180 runs.
“True (lost all WC matches to India) but remember we recently beat them in a big event by a big margin so we might have a bit of an advantage due to that,” he added.
Meanwhile, both teams will like to bring their best to the table in the World Cup event. India will begin their World Cup campaign against South Africa on 5th June at Southampton whereas Pakistan will take on the Windies on 31st May.
