Of late, the request to travel with the families has become a regular scenario in the Indian National Cricket Team. Recently, they allowed wags to travel in the long tour to overseas with a few recommendations. The pattern is going to be the same for Virat Kohli-led side in the upcoming ICC World Cup as well.

There were a lot of debates on families travelling alongside cricketers for the upcoming edition of the grand event. However, as per the reports, it is learnt that the respective board is set to accept the plea made by Virat Kohli and Co.

Having near and dear ones by their side can help the players in a high-pressure tournament, seems to be the idea.

From the last one year, the Indian National Cricket Team is requesting to all wags with them for the long tours. For Test series, which exceeds 45 days, families are allowed after the initial 20 days of the series.

For ICC World Cup 2019, they can meet the cricketers after the initial 10 days. As India set to visit England on May 22nd, probably, the families of the players will land in England after the first game against South Africa, as per The New Indian Express.

Special Cook to travel:

Apart from that, it is learnt that the team will take a special cook with them. A few Indian cricketers were troubled when India toured England, last year. Perhaps, they don’t want that to repeat again, which made them assign a travelling Chef for the team.

This is not a new scenario, as Indian National Cricket Team already took a chef with them in 2016 when India travelled to the Carribean Islands. Moreover, the players will be on a diet designed especially for the big event by strength and conditioning coach Shankar Basu. Having a cook may make things easier.

Families to return after league stages:

Further, it came to known that the families will be away from the players if Indian National Cricket Team reaches to the semifinals of the tournament. At that stage, the pressure will be high for the players, thus, officials don’t want families with them during that phase of the tournament.
