It was a thrilling victory for Pakistan against the Gulbadin Naib-led Afghanistan side. The heroics from Imad Wasim and Wahab Riaz helped Sarfaraz Ahmed and Co to stay in the hunt for the Semifinals’ spot. Meanwhile, the former Pakistan Cricketers Yasir Hameed came up with a poor tweet on Pakistan skipper.

In his official Instagram story, he kept a picture of Sarfaraz Ahmed, which displayed him committing a suicide when a couple of scenarios during the chase went against Pakistan. With Pakistan just escaping a loss, the same picture displayed the skipper enjoying the success.

Though the picture looks funny enough to bring smiles, posting such a picture by a former International Cricketer is something, which is not an encouraging sign. Yasir Hameed started his career on a quality note by smashing centuries in both innings of his first Test match but slowly, he faded away to turn into an analyst.

Pakistan in the contention for Semifinals:

Getting into the details of the game, it was a low-scoring thriller. Initially, Afghanistan posted 227 runs on the board with the help of Asghar Afghan and Najibullah Zadran’s identical 42 runs. For Pakistan,  Shaheen Afridi once again finished with 4 wickets.

In reply, Afghanistan spinners managed to stay in the game for the most part of it. However, the knock from Wahab Riaz and Imad Wasim, in the end, helped them to win the game from the jaws of a loss.

With a last over win over Afghanistan, Pakistan moved to the fourth spot on the points table with 9 points from 8 matches.

The qualification equation for England, though, is still simple: They have 8 points at present. All they have to do is win remaining two matches against India and New Zealand and qualify.

However, a defeat to either India or New Zealand will complicate their chances. England can still qualify with 10 points but they would need Pakistan to lose to Bangladesh and Bangladesh to India. England then will also need Sri Lanka to lose one of their next 2 matches.
