It is obvious that the prediction scenarios will take the boost whenever a major event takes place in the game of cricket. With ICC World Cup 2019 being the red-hot topic, the experts picked their favourites for the upcoming grand event. Meanwhile, the latest to join the bandwagon is the CEO of Google Sundar Pichai.
Sundar Pichai, who is an ardent cricket fan picked the Indian National Cricket Team and the hosts England as the favourites to win the cup. Further, the 46-year-old CEO picked India and England to be the finalists of the tournament.
It should be England and India – Sundar Pichai
The England and Wales Cricket Board got a settled squad in the ODI format with all the departments being covered with the eligible players. The home conditions will also put them as one of the favourites to win the tournament.
On the other hand, the Indian National Cricket Team is performing exceptionally in all conditions. They have got the best batting lineup, which is equally being backed up by the bowling department. The area for improvement is pretty low, which would certainly put them on top of the chart.
“It (ICC Cricket World Cup final match) should be (between) England and India. But, you know, Australia and New Zealand, these are all very, very good teams,” Pichai told a Washington audience when he received the Global Leadership Award on Wednesday.
I stick to cricket:
Further, Sundar Pichai went on to reveal his love for the game and also quoted that he found baseball is a bit difficult game compared to cricket. He also shared his experience of playing both the games.
“When I first came here, I tried to kind of adapt to baseball. I have to say it was a bit challenging. In my first game, I was proud because I hit the ball on the back. It’s a really good shot in cricket. I was like, well look, what I did. But people didn’t appreciate it. In cricket when you run, you always take your bat with you. So I also ran between base with my bat as well.
”So eventually, I realised baseball was a bit difficult. I can adjust on many things, but I’m going to stick to cricket. There is a cricket World Cup going on. It’s a wonderful tournament… rooting for India to do well. But there’s a lot at stake here,” Pichai said.
So far in the tournament, England has beaten South Africa and Bangladesh in their campaign. They also faced a defeat against Pakistan team when Mohammad Hafeez and bowlers delivered the goods.
Meanwhile, the Indian team led by Virat Kohli has performed exceptionally in the two games, which they have played so far in the tournament. Firstly, they thrashed South Africa and then continued their form against the defending champions Australia.
