Experienced left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir included in Pakistan’s World Cup squad after their bowlers were taken to the cleaners by England recently. The thrashing by English batsmen in a T20 International and in the ODI games has alarmed the selectors, who were initially not keen on picking Amir for the showpiece owing to lack of form.
Pakistan has made three changes to their initial World Cup squad with batsman Asif Ali joining seamers Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz into the 15-man squad. Abid Ali, Junaid Khan and Faheem Ashraf have made way for the trio to come in.
Mohammad Amir included in the final 15:
Wahab’s return to the Pakistan squad comes as the biggest surprise. His last outing in the 50-over format came two years ago in the Champions Trophy. Last year, he wasn’t even in the 25 men probable squad for the tour of England and Ireland.
