So far, it has been a brilliant campaign for the Indian National Cricket Team in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2019. Firstly, they outsmarted the South African side and then went on to thrash Australian team on the other day. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli speaks on India’s win against Australia.
During the game against Australia, the Indian team led by Virat Kohli has shown their brilliance in all sections of the game. Initially, it was Shikhar Dhawan and Co, who gave India a massive total on the board while the bowling department led by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah finished things off in a style.
We couldn’t have asked for a better start – Virat Kohli
Speaking of the victories in the first couple of games, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli quoted that winning against two strong teams in the start is always a beneficial aspect for the team. Further, he added that they can speak about the chances after the completion of six games.
“I think it’s too early to decide that. I think after about six games we’ll be in a better position to know where we stand in the tournament,” Kohli said after the Australia match. He added, “We couldn’t have asked for a better start against two strong sides.
The idea behind Hardik Pandya’s promotion:
On Sunday, we came across the Indian team sending Hardik Pandya up in the batting order. Speaking of that, Virat Kohli quoted that the plan was to send one between MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya. Virat Kohli added that MS would have been in the middle if he gets out while Hardik enters if Shikhar gets out.
The communication was if I get out, MS (Dhoni) will come in to control that one end, and if the other guy gets out, Hardik would step in. The communication came from the management that said let’s send Hardik and try and capitalise on this (the good start) because last time we played here against Sri Lanka we got 330 and we still lost the game. I think that was a very, very good plan,” the skipper said.
