ICC World Cup 2019: Jimmy Neesham Urges Indian Fans to Resell Tickets to ‘Genuine Fans’

New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham has requested Team India fans to resell their tickets for final. His statement came after India had faced a shocking exit by 18 runs in the 1st semi-final against Kiwis at the Old Trafford.

Neesham made comments after die-hard Indian fans had already booked the final tickets while hoping the ICC’s World No. 1 ODI team will make it to the grand finale at the historic Lord’s Stadium in London scheduled for July 14 (Sunday).

The Black Caps’ cricketer has appealed the fans by stating them to resell their tickets to ‘genuine cricket fans’. While taking to his Twitter handle, Neesham said if Indian fans are not interested in witnessing the finale, then they should put their tickets on resale via the official window.

He also pointed out it’s tempting that many are looking for making a hefty amount.

“Dear Indian cricket fans. If you don’t want to come to the final anymore then please be kind and resell your tickets via the official platform. I know it’s tempting to try to make a large profit. But please give all genuine cricket fans a chance to go, not just the wealthy,” Neesham tweeted on Saturday.

Meanwhile, New Zealand will take on hosts England in the grand finale of the twelfth edition of the World Cup. Also, it will be for the first time that the world cricket will witness a brand new champion since Sri Lanka thumped Australia at Lahore in 1996.

Furthermore, Neesham had done an incredible job with the ball by picking 12 wickets in nine matches.

Also, he had played an imperative role with the bat by accumulating 213 runs in seven innings at an average of 35.50.

Overall, he is the third leading run-getter for Kiwis at the World Cup. Skipper Kane Williamson (548) and Ross Taylor (335) had done a bulk of the job for the Black Caps.

During the ongoing World Cup, the world cricket governing body had also set a window for the refund.

For this, they have set a condition that if one is not interested in watching the games. In its return policy, the ICC had made it clear those who return tickets will get a 100 per cent refund.

ICC had made this effort to curb black marketing, particularly for the knockout fixtures in the United Kingdom (UK).
