Team India all-rounder and one of the most important members of the 15 member side, Kedar Jadhav hasn’t yet recovered from his injury which he sustained during the IPL and hence won’t take part in the 2nd warm-up match for India prior to the 2019 World Cup against Bangladesh. It was Team India skipper Virat Kohli who revealed in the toss that Kedar Jadhav won’t be able to compete as he is still recovering from a shoulder injury.
Kedar Jadhav sustained the injury during the later phases of the Indian Premier League. It was a big blow not only for the Chennai Super Kings but also for India as the World Cup was just approaching. He was declared fit to travel with the team for the World Cup. However, he had to miss the two warm-up games against the Kiwis and Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, India will start their campaign with a group match against South Africa on 5th June. It will also give India some added time to make themselves fit for the main tournament. Vijay Shankar who was not fit for the last warm-up game is expected to play a part in the 2nd match against Bangladesh.
Kedar Jadhav is a terrific lower middle-order batsman for India and has taken the role of finisher quite superbly. He can score runs briskly and can also take the match away from the opposition within a blink of an eye. The pocket-sized dynamo is a very much impact player and his absence could be a concern for India.
To add to his batting skills, he is more than an impressive off-break bowler who has the ability to bag wickets during crucial junctures of the game. Whenever he has been handed over the ball either by Kohli or MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav has done the job for his team. Hence he will be an integral part of the Indian side and should be in the starting XI.
