His tweet read: “If Roy misses out, Bairstow will get you! If they both miss out, Root will get you. If they all miss out then Buttler will get you. And, Jofra will always get you! Give em the cup.”
The Indian fans mocked Pietersen for saying “Give em the cup” at the end of his tweet. England are definitely one of the favorites to win this world cup. However, both Australia and India looked strong as well.

England are undoubtedly huge favorites to win world cup this summer. However, India are looking strong contenders as well. The hosts are playing some great cricket since the start of the world cup.
They only lost to Pakistan but managed comprehensive wins against all other teams they faced so far. But on the other side, India have not lost a single game so far in this world cup. However, their match against New Zealand was washed out due to rain.
Virat Kohli and men have already played against top opponents and came out with flying colors. The men in blue are looking in serious form as they are playing as a unit. Despite injuries to Shikhar Dhawan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, India sailed to easy victory against Pakistan.
They will face Afghanistan on Saturday. On the other hand, England are yet to face litmus test as they did not play Australia and India so far. As far as Kevin Pietersen’s comments are concerned, only time will tell who will be winning this world cup.
The favorites do not always win the ICC events as we had seen in some of the recent tournaments. However, England do have a strong case to win their first ever ICC cricket world cup this summer.
