As the tournament kicked-off on May 30 in the England and Wales, Rahul has adapted himself well to contribute regularly for the Team India.

Rahul further observed the wickets are getting slower. He conceded that he’s decided to stay at the crease before scoring runs. The exciting opener stated that his primary role is to build up an innings. Adding, he’s getting better with the time.

“In the last few matches, the conditions that we played in, like in Southampton, Manchester and here at Birmingham, wickets were little slow. So, I felt it is important to take some time initially.  And if I get set then I can score runs. I knew that the firepower was there. So, initially I can take a little bit of time, that is my role. And, so, I built my innings accordingly. I am learning with each innings and getting better,” Rahul concluded.

Also, on July 6 (Saturday) India will take on Sri Lanka in their last league fixture in Leeds.
