ICC World Cup 2019: No Regrets In Opting To Bowl First Against India – Sarfaraz Ahmed

Ever since the match between India and Pakistan took place, the skipper of Pakistan Sarfaraz Ahmed is in the bowl of soup. For quite a few aspects, Sarfaraz Ahmed was on the headlines. One of them was for ignoring their Prime Minister Imran Khan’s advice to chose to bat first if they win the toss.

Ahead of Indo-Pak clash, Imran Khan took his time to help the Pakistan team ease their nerves for the game against Pakistan. He asked Sarfaraz Ahmed to pick the batting first if they win the toss, as that would put more pressure on the team chasing the total.

But, the skipper of Pakistan, Sarfaraz Ahmed, who won the toss, elected to field first at the drop of the hat. It certainly made a few of the fans to come up with brutal tweets on the Pakistan skipper, as Indian batsmen showed their class against them.

It was a collective decision – Sarfaraz Ahmed

Meanwhile, the Pakistan skipper cleared the air saying that the Prime Minister has spoken to the team and asked them to choose the toss decision after taking a close look at the pitch. Further, he went on to add saying that the decision to pick bowling is a collective idea of team members and the management.

“I don’t have any regret on bowling first. Imran bhai had told me to take decision according to conditions. It was a collective decision. Everyone in the team wanted to bowl first,” Sarfaraz said.

Don’t Abuse us:

Further, Sarfaraz Ahmed asked fans to criticise the players but not to abuse them. And also, the Pakistan skipper urged fans to not involve their families into the ruckus, which would make an effect on the mental health of an individual.

“Criticise us on our game, that’s not an issue, but don’t abuse us. Their families get affected. If someone is hitting, then pushing anyone that’s not good. Our fans are emotional and these same people lift us when we win. But if they feel sad on a defeat we also feel the same way. We feel it much more because we are playing for Pakistan,” said the under-fire Pakistan skipper.

All in all, the loss to the Indian National Cricket Team will be remembered for a long time. Now, they need to win all their remaining games in order to stay in the hunt for the spot in the final four.
