Rashid Khan was struck on the helmet of Lockie Ferguson delivery, which saw him walking back to the pavilion with a bit of uncomfortable. He failed the Concussion test, thus, stayed away from the second innings of the game. Meanwhile, the skipper Gulbadin Naib provides an update on his injury.
Rashid Khan was visibly jolted even as some of the New Zealand players, including captain Kane Williamson, rushed to check on him. The ball ricocheted on the stumps as Rashid Khan walked back to the hut without troubling the scorers.
Rashid Khan is feeling well – Gulbadin Naib
Rashid Khan reportedly failed two concussion tests which have become mandatory in international cricket after a batsman takes a blow on his helmet. The first test was held 45 minutes before the second even as Afghanistan bowlers came out to defend the total.

Meanwhile, the skipper of Afghanistan provided an update to the reporters. He feels that Rashid Khan is recovering well and a one-week break would help him to recover completely.
“Rashid Khan is feeling now better. If you have a ball bowled at 140-plus KMPH hit you, it obviously realises something. The doctor said don’t go to the field but now he’s feeling well. So he needed rest. So obviously we have a couple of days. He’s fine now,” Naib told reporters.

“I asked the physio if Rashid Khan needed rest; he had some headache. We have a rest of one week before the next game. So now he’s feeling well. He should go to the hospital and check for some tests.”
Coming to the game, Kane Williamson led by example as the New Zealand captain’s 79 not out guided his side to a seven-wicket win over Afghanistan that maintained their 100% start to the World Cup on Saturday.
Williamson was New Zealand’s top scorer with a 99-ball innings containing nine fours after Jimmy Neesham took career-best one-day figures of 5-31 to dismiss Afghanistan for 172 at Taunton.
